Habe versehentlich einen Kalender mit wertvollen Einträgen aus Outlook gelöscht.
Der betreffende Kalender konnte nirgends mehr gefunden werden und selbst die vermutete ".OST"-Datei ist im Backup nicht vorhanden (auch ein hinzugezogener IT-Spezialist mit Outlookerfahreung konnte nichts finden).
Habe mich daraufhin an meinen Softwarelieferanten fürs Backup "VEEAM" gewendet. Mit dieser Software mache ich mit Hilfe einer externen Festplatte regelmässige Backups vom gesamten System. Alles andere ausser Outlookdaten wird zu 100% zuverlässig "gebackupt".
Offenbar ist dieses Problem bekannt. Anbei die Antwort vom Veeam-Support:

Now with that said, I was able to review your issue and I should be able to respond as to the nature of your issue. Simply put our Veeam Agent for Windows product did not backup your ost and pst files, and that’s because of a Microsoft implemented limitation. If you open up regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToSnapshot, you will notice that the OutlookOST files are excluded from the snapshot. This is a Microsoft implemented registry key which is explained in this article:

The Veeam Agent for Windows backup solution utilizes VSS snapshots for its full computer/volume backups. To which it also utilizes the rules from this snapshot registry key. So therefore the files did not get backed up. And as mentioned, this is by design as per that link above.
If there is any Outlook user information that needs to be restore, it may be possible using native Outlook components such as Archive Outlook E-mail. I would also recommend contacting Microsoft support as they may have something that can be used for restoring any ost or pst files. Though please do not take that as gospel as we at Veeam support can not vouch for anything third party related other then how it effects our software.

Was kann ich nun konkret tun, damit das künftig nicht mehr geschehen kann?
Es muss doch möglich sein, seine persönlichen Daten auf einfache Weise Lokal zu speichern und vollumfänglich zu sichern. Irgendwie scheint Outlook diesbezüglich besonders unübersichtlich und kompliziert zu sein. Ich möchte bewusst auf eine Cloudlösung verzichten.
Vielen Dank für eine verständliche Antwort mit Anleitung die auch für für nicht-IT Experten verständlich ist; beste Grüsse
